To appreciate its magic, we need to rewind to the 1930s when Rolex was busy rewriting the rules of horology. Thanks to its innovative perpetual rotor, the watch wound itself using the motion of the wearer’s wrist. This might sound unremarkable to modern ears but in the 1930s, it was nothing short of sorcery.

This specific 2940 isn’t just any Bubbleback but a special edition created exclusively for the Japanese market where radium, a common luminescent in the 1930s, was strictly prohibited. So, unlike most watches of its era; this one is radium-free, a detail that not only makes it safer but also rarer.

Perfectly preserved, untouched, and as fresh as the day it left Switzerland almost 100 years ago.
