Born in France to a family with deep horological roots, the master watchmaker at the renowned houses of Jaeger Le Coutre and Audemars Piguet, the man who resurrected the famed house of Breguet and then started his own atelier in 1989, Daniel Roth has achieved legendary status amongst the many revered Swiss watchmakers. 

His influence on contemporary watchmaking has been substantial and his iconic designs, idiosyncratic construction and flawless, hand-crafted finish have withstood the test of time and propelled him to the very top of Swiss watchmaking. In 1995, Daniel Roth joined forces with The Hour Glass Group and the example you see here today is part of that period. While any early Daniel Roth piece is considered hugely desirable, there are still a few pieces in the Hour Glass period that retain all the traits and quality of the early models.

From circa 1997, the present gold skeletonized chronograph wristwatch signed Daniel Roth belongs to the EARLY THG era when Roth was very much in control. Manufactured prior to the acquisition by Bvlgari, the present example boasts Roth’s iconic double ellipse case design. Skeletonized, the movement is proudly displayed on the dial side with a date aperture located on the 6 O’clock position. The salmon hued outer minute track and subsidiary dials provide a harmonious contrast and depth.

Presented here in MINT condition with the RARE SALMON DIAL and as a FULL COLLECTORS SET, this second-generation Daniel Roth Chronograph comes equipped with a beautifully hand-finished DR101 openworked movement.
