Svend Andersen is one of the founding fathers of the Academy of Independent Watchmakers (Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendant, AHCI) in 1985. Prior to that, from 1969, he worked for nine years in the Atelier des Complications of Patek Philippe where he mastered their Louis Cottier based Worldtimers. Early in his career as an independent watchmaker Andersen developed a similar Cottier based world time complication for his own brand, and, since 1980, it has been a central pillar of Andersen Genève production.

Launched in 1992, the 2nd Edition Worldtime "Christopher Columbus" commemorates 500 years since Columbus's 1492 voyage and comes in a LIMITED 500-piece series (including just 200 in yellow gold). Presented here in MINT condition with a handmade cloisonné enamel dial.

We offer a one-year warranty on the mechanical function of all watches bought from us, starting from the day of purchase.

We do not guarantee the waterproofness of any watch and therefore, this warranty also does not cover any cosmetic damage to the case and/or movement by water or moisture entering the watch.

Our warranty does not apply to any accidental damage or mishandling of your watch and excludes the bracelet, case parts (including pushers, winding stem, crown and bezel), watch glass, dial and hands.

MOVEMENT: Nickel-finished, jeweled, self-winding lever ‘Cottier’ movement, Functions – indication of time in hours and minutes, world time, leather strap with blue stitching, gold buckle.

DIAL: Blue gilt cloisonné enamel dial designed as a map of the Atlantic ocean with applied dot numerals, gold dauphine hands, revolving cream and black chapter ring calibrated for 24 hours divided into diurnal and nocturnal hours, further bordered by a rotating ring indicating 30 cities throughout the world.
